If I'm writing a paper entitled I Am Jack's Transparent Eyeball: Examining Fight Club in a Transcendentalist Context, does that make me cool or lame?

Just an idle question. That is in fact what I'm doing. And as the paper has to be done by 1:45 p.m. tomorrow, I don't exactly have much of an opportunity to back out.

I think it's cool. It's fascinating what I'm finding out. Including (oh, this is so exciting) the fact that, when you first see the guys walking into Lou's Tavern, the music playing in the background is "Goin' Out West" by Tom Waits. If you know the movie, you'll understand how appropriate these lyrics are:

I know karate, voodoo too
I’m gonna make myself available to you
I don’t need no makeup; I got real scars
I got hair on my chest
I look good without a shirt
And I don’t lose my composure in a high-speed chase
That is just so cool I don't know what to do with myself. I wish I could figure out how to use it in my paper, but I think that's a lost cause.

Oh well... back to transcribing appropriate quotations from the movie.
