It's been a long day. I don't really feel like practicing songs with Julie tonight, but it's what I gotta do. We're doing two shows this weekend... one tomorrow night in Richmond, and another Saturday night at Blackstone's here in town. And I should probably, you know, know the songs before singing them in front of people.

I feel good, though. I'm reading books about ex-nuns now. Don't ask me why. I just read whatever seems interesting at the time.

My parents came down to visit... they got here yesterday around lunchtime and left this morning. The radio station put them up in one of the rooms that we get free at the Hampton Inn, so they didn't have to pay for a hotel. We ate a lot, shopped some... it was nice. I'm wearing new clothes and I have two new books at home. One about Catholicism (big shocker) and one about plot development. I should start writing more. Especially if I'm going to have anything to actually submit to grad schools and to the professors who are teaching the writing classes I want to take this fall.

Hmpf. I'll get back to work now so I can be finished with this revision and then I can go home. Yay, home. Yay, leftover Japanese food.
